I love to be creative and enjoy expressing myself through my art. I paint mostly in oils, but also enjoy watercolor and my new found love of silk painting. I feel it a blessing to have the time and resources to pursue my love for painting. Enjoying color and form, I create from the heart and hope to move those who see my art.
Painting the landscape of rural Utah is my passion, keeping the history of the area alive on canvas, with it's barns, historic homes, and animals. I am blessed to live in the beautiful Heber Valley of Utah where I am inspired to paint the majestic mountains and meadows that surround me.
I am happiest at my easel painting or at my silk frames painting silk. I was inspired by the beautiful silks I saw while on a humanitarian mission for our church in Thailand and Laos for 18 months. It is so fun to see how the dyes flow on the silk, almost like watercolors. Thanks to u-tube videos and lots of practice, I learned the technique. My husband built frames for stretching the silk and a steamer to steam the scarves for 3 hours which makes the dyes permanent.
I hope you will enjoy my site and let me know if I can answer any questions or do a custom art piece for you.
